GenderPro Capacity Building Course: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Does the GenderPro Capacity Building Course take place in person, virtually, or hybrid?
It is a fully online course.
How often does the course run?
The course typically runs twice each year, with one cohort starting in January (spring cohort) and one starting in August (fall cohort) of each year.
How long is the course?
The course is 15 weeks long.
What is the time commitment for the course?
The GenderPro Capacity Building Course includes weekly 90-minute live sessions during the first two weeks and then every other week throughout the course. Participants will spend an additional 1-2 hours per week to complete supplementary readings and their Action Learning Project (ALP).
What is the Action Learning Project (ALP)?
In the Action Learning Project, course participants identify a topic that could be addressed through a gender-integrated programme. This project can focus on either a) improving an existing project or b) designing a new project. The goal is for participants to choose a project through which they can exercise new concepts they are learning in the course, ideally a real project derived from their own work. The project culminates with a virtual presentation delivered to fellow course participants and the instructor, as well as the completion of a 10-15 page paper.
What are the final deliverables to pass the course?
- Attend 70% of all live sessions
- Complete a make up assignment for the missed sessions

Are scholarships available? How are scholarship recipients selected?
There are a finite number of scholarships available for each cohort. Applicants eligible to be considered for scholarships are those living and working in the Global South, and whose organizations are not able to financially support their participation. Unfortunately, GenderPro is not currently able to offer scholarships to all applicants who meet these criteria.
Are payment plans available?
Yes, once admitted, participants can request to pay their course fee in installments through a payment plan. Plans are developed directly with each individual, so please send an email to [email protected] once admitted if you are interested in setting up a payment plan.
