Does the GenderPro Capacity Building Programme take place in person, virtually, or hybrid?
It is a fully online programme.
How often does the programme run?
The programme typically runs twice each year, with one cohort starting in February and one starting in September of each year.
How long is the programme?
The programme is 15 weeks long.
What is the time commitment for the Programme?
The GenderPro Capacity Building Programme includes weekly 90-minute live sessions during the first two weeks and then every other week throughout the programme. Participants will spend an additional 1-2 hours per week to complete supplementary readings and their Action Learning Project (ALP).
What is the Action Learning Project (ALP)?
For the Action Learning Project, programme participants plan and develop a gender mainstreaming approach to improve a new or an existing development programme. The goal is for participants to choose a project through which they can exercise new concepts they are learning in the programme, ideally a real project derived from their own work. The project culminates with a virtual presentation delivered to fellow programme participants and the instructor, as well as the completion of a 10-15 page paper.
What are the final deliverables to pass the programme?
- Attend 70% of all live sessions
- Complete a make up assignment for any missed sessions
- Prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation about your ALP
- Produce a 10-15 page paper detailing your ALP
How much does the programme cost?
The programme fee is $2,500. A limited number of scholarships are available.
Are scholarships available? How are scholarship recipients selected?
GenderPro offers a limited number of scholarships for qualified applicants who met a set number of criteria. Note that meeting all of the criteria does not guarantee a scholarship award.
Are payment plans available?
Payment plans are available upon request, once you have been accepted to the programme. The first instalment of your plan must be paid prior to the start of the programme.
