Capacity Building Programme
The GenderPro Capacity Building Programme is a first-of-its-kind course designed to educate international development professionals on the best approaches to improve the lives of women and girls around the world. The course consists of about an hour and a half of work per week over about four months and an applied practicum focused on a work deliverable. Two 16-week cohorts are administered per year. The total cost of the course is $2500. Payment will be due after acceptance to the course, but before the course begins.
Participants in this applied programme will learn to:
- Conduct a gender analysis of development projects within different country contexts
- Integrate gender-responsive strategies and interventions
- Create specific solutions for integrating gender into development programmes
- Work with relevant stakeholders for sustainable results
Core content received by all participants includes:

Monitoring & evaluation of and reporting on gender-integrated programmes

Advocacy and communication for gender-integrated programming
The core content draws on resources, case studies and exercises that are relevant to both practitioners and policymakers.
Cross-cutting issues, such as violence against women and girls (VAWG), humanitarian assistance, and ethics in research and practice, will be addressed throughout the programme.

Cohorts
Cohorts consist of several sections of up to 15 students, led by an expert instructor. Cohort participants are from all over the world and classes are sector based. The first cohort was piloted in 2019 and ever since, there are 1-2 cohorts per year.
