Does the GenderPro Capacity Building Course take place in person, virtually, or hybrid?
It is a fully online course.
How often does the course run?
The course typically runs twice each year, with one cohort starting in February and one starting in September of each year.
How long is the course?
The course is 15 weeks long.
What is the time commitment for the course?
The GenderPro Capacity Building Course includes weekly 90-minute live sessions during the first two weeks and then every other week throughout the course. Participants will spend an additional 1-2 hours per week to complete supplementary readings and their Action Learning Project (ALP).
What is the Action Learning Project (ALP)?
In the Action Learning Project, course participants plan and develop a gender mainstreaming approach to improve a new or an existing development programme. The goal is for participants to choose a project through which they can exercise new concepts they are learning in the course, ideally a real project derived from their own work. The project culminates with a virtual presentation delivered to fellow course participants and the instructor, as well as the completion of a 10-15 page paper.
What are the final deliverables to pass the course?
- Attend 70% of all live sessions
- Complete a make up assignment for the missed sessions
- Prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation about the ALP
- Produce a 10-15 page paper detailing the ALP
How much does the course cost?
The course fee is $2500 (USD). A limited number of scholarships are available.
Are scholarships available? How are scholarship recipients selected?
GenderPro offers a limited number of scholarships for qualified applicants who met a set number of criteria. Note that meeting all of the criteria does not guarantee a scholarship award.
Are payment plans available?
Payment plans are available upon request, once you have been submitted to the programme. The first instalment of your plan must be paid prior to the start of the course.
